Meet our Staff
Dave Rochette
I
have enjoyed camping all my life, and spent a lot of time on the road
in a Coleman® camper with my family. Ten years ago, I left the
corporate world and bought Westland Camping, so I could help other
families enjoy the benefits of the camping lifestyle. I’m proud
of the level of personal service we give our customers, something they
can’t get at other large RV dealerships.
You can contact me via e-mail at dave@westlandcamping.com
Irene Rochette
I
am the General Manager at Westland Camping; the job doesn’t
include much managing, so I do whatever needs doing. I grew up
camping in a tent, and was thrilled when Dave and I bought our first
pop-up right after we got married. I still enjoy it very much, and now
that we do kayaking also, it’s even more fun. My favorite trips
are when the whole family goes, especially the grandchildren!
Steve Rochette
I started working here while attending Eastern Michigan
University almost 11 years
ago. After graduating, I returned full time to the family business as the
Service Coordinator. Recently, I have taken over the Parts Department; so if
you need to have something special ordered, see me! Since coming to work here,
I’ve graduated college, gotten married, and have a two year old daughter. But
one thing that hasn’t changed is my commitment to helping people enjoy camping.
Kev Rochette
I
have worked at Westland Camping for 10 years in both the service
department and in sales, and am currently VP of Kayak Sales.
Conveniently enough, some of my favorite hobbies include pop-up camping
and kayaking with my wife and three children. I’m proud to
contribute to Westland Camping’s dominance in the area of pop-up
camper sales. I love to talk to customers about camping, kayaking, and
where to go to do them.
Fred Palmer
I
started at Westland Camping in April, 2007 in sales. I can help our
customers achieve the dream of owning a great recreational vehicle!
I built trailers for several different manufacturers; I’ve
been a plant manager, sales manager, and had many other positions in
the industry. I have owned many different types of RVs, and I love to camp, fish, and spend time outdoors.

Sonia Sylvester
Like
many people from this area I did not know Westland Camping was here
until I started to work here in April, 1989. I am the Finance Manager.
I really enjoy doing the final paperwork with the customers who are
excited about getting their new trailer. During my free time I enjoy
gardening, reading, and playing with my puppies.
 Dennis Meadows
I’ve
been a Service Tech for 19 years, the last two at Westland Camping. I
like to take my daughter Nicole camping and fishing, and am a big fan
of NASCAR. I’m also the cook at Westland Camping; when we do
barbeque, I’m the guy!
 Darrell Moran
I
have been the Service Manager at Westland Camping for six years. I
have over 20 years experience working on RV’s, so I’ve seen
a lot of unusual problems, and been able to work through them. In my
spare time, I like to spend time with my daughter Alyssa, camp and
hunt, and kayak on the local rivers and lakes.
 Randy Bates
I started as Service Coordinator at Wetland Camping
in January, 2008. I have worked in the industry for 32 years,
including 5 years at Dometic. I am certified by both Dometic and RVIA, and have seen just about
every problem you can imagine. I try to see that every customer is taken care
of as quickly and accurately as possible, so if you’re RV needs service, I’m
the guy to call! In my time off, I enjoy riding my GoldWing Bike - I’ve
been biking since I was 16 - and playing with my grandkids.
Jesse Dougherty I started at Westland Camping in the Fall of 2006. Originally I worked in
the building trades, so it was pretty easy to make the transition to
Westland to help with new units preps, service repairs, and installing
hitches and wiring. I camp every summer and really enjoy hunting,
fishing and anything that keeps me outdoors.

Jarrod Dougherty
I
started working at Westland Camping in the Spring of 2007. My older
brother Jesse recommended me for this job. I help prep new units and
fill propane, but my real love is camping, hunting, and fishing
outdoors.

Janet Klinebriel
After working at Westland Camping Center for over 29 years, both selling trailers and as Parts Manager, I have retired
and plan to divide my time between our home in Westland and our lake house in Coldwater. I
enjoy using my Bayside pop up, and hope to do more camping with my family.
